Senior Litigation Associate

Lee’s principal areas of practice are construction and employment litigation in both federal and state courts. In the construction context, Lee provides representation to subcontractors engaged in complex, multiple-party disputes over payment and workmanship in large-scale commercial, industrial and manufacturing projects. In the employment context, Lee regularly represents businesses in all types of employment-related investigations by federal and state agencies, including the US Department of Homeland Security, the US Department of Labor, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the NC Department of Labor and the NC Division of Employment Security.

Lee also provides guidance to businesses navigating and complying with complex federal and state employment statutes.

Lee grew up in Charlotte and is very active in his community. He is a member of the University City YMCA’s Board of Managers and also serves as Chairman of its Annual Campaign, which raises more than $130,000 annually to support the YMCA’s mission in University City. Lee also serves as President of the Charlotte School of Law Alumni Association, as a member of the Charlotte School of Law Board of Visitors, and was appointed by the Mecklenburg County Commission as a member of the Mecklenburg County Human Resource Advisory Committee. Lee also serves as General Counsel to Stonewall Sports Charlotte, Inc., a non-profit adult community sports league.

Lee is very involved in the North Carolina and Mecklenburg County Bar Associations. Lee serves as the Vice Chairman of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association’s Social and Networking Committee. Lee also serves as the humor columnist for The Advocate, the North Carolina Bar Association’s newsletter for the Young Lawyer’s Division, as a member of the Leadership Council of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division, a member of the Young Lawyer’s Division Pro Bono Committee, and as a member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Law School Liaison Committee and the North Carolina Bar Association Foundation’s Law-Related Education Committee. Lee is also a member of the Justice Bobbitt Inn of Court and an adjunct faculty member in the Charlotte School of Law Paralegal Certificate Program, where he teaches torts and corporations.

Previously, Lee was a professional summer camp director with the Boy Scouts of America. In his free time, Lee enjoys hiking, camping, and swimming on the Dowd YMCA’s Master’s Swim Team.
